FOREHILL PRIMARY
Dyslexia Friendly SchoolForehill Primary is a dyslexia friendly school. All classes use dyslexia friendly learning and teaching approaches. We have a Dyslexia Friendly Schools Steering Group which is made up of pupils, staff and parents. The pupil group meet with Mrs Hartley, Mrs Rodger and Mrs Murdoch regularly to work on initiatives which continue to build on best practice. A Parent Support Group also meets with Mrs Hartley.
Our school has a clear policy on Dyslexia – all members of staff have been involved in awareness raising and training sessions. Early identification of dyslexic tendencies is crucial as it enables early intervention – all class teachers are fully aware of this. From the earliest stages, literacy skills are taught through a variety of active, multi-sensory methods.
